to Maritime Sanitation
Maritime Sanitation has been serving the Galveston Bay area and in particular Clear Lake since 1992. We are a locally owned and operated company employing trained, conscientious and drug free professionals bringing sewage waste management services to the boating community and marine industry.
Our wide variety of services and products include holding tank pump-out at your slip, TANK TAMER holding tank treatment along with the installation of new systems, upgrades and repairs for all brands of marine sanitation systems including SEALAND VACUFLUSH, JABSCO, RARITAN and TECMA toilets.
For our marina customers, we design, install and service state-of-the-art EDSON pump out equipment and can assist marina managers with grant applications. Maritime has installed EDSON pump-out stations on Clear Lake at Waterford Harbor Marina and on coastal waters at Freeport Municipal Marina and Corpus Christi Municipal Marina.
Pump - Out Services
Dockside pump outs are provided by our fleet of “Phewee” pump-out boats equipped with dependable EDSON peristaltic pumps. Each boat is manned by a crew of two dedicated and trained professionals.
Pump-outs are available on a call out or scheduled basis in any marina in the Galveston Bay area. This is a convenient and simple process that allows sewage holding tanks to be emptied and does not require the owner to be present when the service is performed. Our Captains leave a small tag advising when the tank was emptied. Request a pump out.
We can provide a back-flush of the tank and add TANK TAMER Holding Tank Treatment to help neutralize offensive odors when pumping out the tank. Because our pump-out boats make regular calls at your marina, it is not necessary to leave the comfort and security of your slip to play a large part in helping keep our waterways clean and to comply with the environmental laws of The Clean Vessel Act of 1992.
Aside from our pump-out service, Maritime Sanitation professionals install and repair sanitation systems (MSD’s), holding tank and sanitation hose replacements, fresh water systems and water makers as well as cleaning bilges. We design and install fresh water flush conversions for heads using conventional, odor causing seawater flush.
Odor problems are diagnosed and addressed using Maritime’s own TANK TAMER brand of non-toxic, non-corrosive, non-polluting FORMALDEHYDE FREE and alcohol free odor neutralizer that degrades odor causing waste. TANK TAMER will NOT damage sanitation hoses and can be purchased on-line, just click the link on this page!
It is our privilege to be part of the boating industry and to have been involved in the infrastructural development of pump-out stations and boater education. We will continue to be an active participant in clean water efforts in Texas and surrounding states. Look for Maritime’s Skunk Fleet vessels operating soon in your favorite Caribbean cruising grounds as well as Grenada and Honduras!

|Need Help with a Federal Grant
The Clean Vessel Act of 1992 authorized a competitive grant program for States to construct pump-out and dump stations to dispose of vessel sewage from recreational boaters. Purpose: Provide pump-out and dump stations for boaters to dispose of human waste in an environmentally safe manner. Pump-out stations are used to pump waste out of recreational boat holding tanks. Dump stations are used to empty portable toilets. Appropriate State agencies are the only entities eligible to receive grant funds.
Maritime Sanitation has over 18 years of experience in providing marina managers/harbormasters with assistance of grant application. In addition to this we can simply answer any questions that you might have about this process. Give us a call at (281)334-5978 or send us an email.
